Electrum has been around since 2011. It is: * open source * deterministic * reproducible * widely reviewed * independently used by many Bitcoin users The seed algorithm is documented. You can recreate the wallet from: * the seed phrase * the derivation path * the wallet type There is no proprietary hardware layer and Electrum seeds are not BIP39 by default.
