You dont need to disconnect from paid relays The general recommend paid one is the wine relay it is however adviced to not have around 15 relays tops because it can slow down with to many. Snort is a webclient a different way to interact with the nostr protocol meaning if damus gets restricted or taken down you can continue on a different client.
