I was slightly joking about the dirty mags, I was more making the point that protecting kids from things we think they shouldn't see never worked. But I'm also not joking, I was definitely friends with one guy who had access to his dads magazine collection. Personally, I was mostly in the cool kid groups and hovered at the bottom of the top set for most of my school days, leaving curious to understand what the hell school was all about. Adults kept trying to tell me stuff without explaining why, so I didn't bother listening. It was only when I left school that I really started learning.
