I wonder what they call a zero day under this context? All I know is they are worth millions. I can't imagine anyone wanting corruption in that system.

The state is in control of Google and they want you to not be able to protect you in this digital war. Private and secure communication over decentralised uncensored channels are our sharpest weapon.
It is still a zero-day. It is a zero-day when the original vendor / manufacturer is not aware of the vulnerability's existence. Obviously, Paragon, NSO, Cellebrite etc. will not be telling Google or anybody else what they are up to.
