Speculation: If bitcoin actually gets beat by the gov, why can't we just start over with another?
Not a hard fork, but another, created from scratch. Like a cyborg making a backup.

Bitcoin can't be killed by a government. China tried and failed.
If that happens then Bitcoin was doomed to fail from the start, and why wouldn't gov just repeat those steps for what ever new thing popped up?
it would also take an unprecedented and unrealistic level of collaboration between governments to achieve your speculation.
For example if my government every even tried, i would simply move somewhere that was doing the opposite 😉
