In #St. Petersburg, a 28-year-old #Palestinian refugee has been accused of raping a 14-year-old girl.
The man, who arrived from the #Gaza Strip and has temporary residence status, previously worked as a butcher. According to the investigation, he had been abusing the girl for about two years. The suspect himself stated that he acted according to the #Koran, justifying his actions by the fact that the girl did not wear a #hijab.
The victim sought help from a teacher, and then from the guardianship authorities. After that, a police representative was called. A criminal case was opened against the man under the article on the rape of a minor.
The incident occurred in a communal apartment in the Krasnoselsky district in July 2025, and the girl told the social worker about what happened only in early September. The harassment lasted about two years - from July 2023 to July 2025, when the act of violence itself occurred. The suspect's name is #Muhammad Saleh, and he came to Russia as a humanitarian refugee. He was provided with housing, food, and medical care, and helped with paperwork. During interrogation, he said that he was seeing "infidel" women without a hijab on the streets for the first time, and he did not admit guilt, claiming that he "acted according to the Koran."
