I’m guessing Altman embellished regarding current business model sustainability. OpenAI just changed their API payment terms to pre-paid from end-of-month payments (I just got the email shortly after the Altman announcement). Could be a coincidence, but seems like they probably had cash flow issues due to failure to collect payment for GPU hours and now the new CEO’s first action is to switch to pre-paid credits… Maybe they should have used Bitcoin?
