‼️🇺🇸👊🇻🇪 Two US Navy ships - the WASP-class amphibious assault ship USS Iwo Jima and the Arleigh Burke-class destroyer USS Gravely - have positioned themselves on the zero line of potential attack on Venezuela (from where Tomahawk-type cruise missiles can already be launched) and are conducting carrier aviation maneuvers. ------------------------- ◾ The USS Iwo Jima carries 1,600 Marines from the 22nd Expeditionary Unit. ◾ In addition to the Iwo Jima, two other universal amphibious assault ships are involved in the operation - USS San Antonio and USS Fort Lauderdale. On board are Harrier-type carrier-based attack aircraft, AH-1Z Viper attack helicopters, and MV-22 Osprey tiltrotor aircraft. ◾ The USS Gerald R. Ford carrier strike group provides air support for strike, reconnaissance, and other operations involving the 8th Air Wing. ◾ In the Caribbean region itself, alongside the landing forces, about 10,000 American soldiers are deployed, along with 5 more destroyers, 1 Ticonderoga-class guided missile cruiser, and a strategic nuclear submarine, in addition to the USS Gravely.
