One more update for #groupednotes: image - In compact mode, it is now possible (optionally) to preview the latest note, allowing you to easily skip those that are not of interest when checking for updates - There is the possibility to limit replies to first level ones, to increase the signal - User's last notes feed now merges post and replies by default, but splits them if they are more than 20, to allow a more comfortable reading - At the top, there is a convenient filter for searching for a specific user, to quickly find someone Enjoy it:

A new experimental release of "grouped notes" has been deployed at Key feature: a read status is displayed for both the last note and all notes, so you can easily keep track of what you've already seen and what's new; in addition the counter is reset when a profile has been marked as read and new notes arrive. Other additions: - A new option to include replies has been added - Only the content in the selected timeframe is shown when checking "other notes from the same user" - Group notes mode and its settings persist across reloads - Compact mode is what offers a radical new experience, so now it is the default Thanks @fiatjaf, @idsera & others for the suggestions and feedback. I know, and I tried different solutions, but I didn't find a good one; so instead of breaking the UX I keep it like this for now. Btw, with the text preview, seeing the last note makes a lot of more sense.
Yes, starting from the assumption that you have a curated feed, and that with grouped notes you want to surface new content, I think is more useful to lower the visibility of people that are not a priority. Btw, the two features can exist together, they do the opposite thing.
Other thing: Would be great if when we click to see all notes from a profile, the profile on grouped feed could disappear, so the feed will only show the profiles we didn't read the notes yet.
An UI element cannot have two different behavior, it would be really confusing. This is the problem. Yes, it would be the first, but without the full thread.
Hiding the user when selecting another one would be quite confusing, the user lose the possibility to go back and pick the user again. We already change the counter to signal the read status (gray: last note read, low contrast: last notes read). Maybe I could apply some transparency to the whole row.
