Not sure if this is pedantic but, Bitcoin is not energy. It uses energy. The way I think of PoW is "crystallizing" energy and storing it as an information pattern that satisfies the challenge.

It is a crystallized information pattern that uses energy to form. Kind of like gold mining.
No i am saying it most definitely cannot be reclaimed therefore it is not energy. It is information. The energy is dissipated as heat and gone forever.
