"The Bitcoin protocol ecosystem is currently engaged in a nuanced and technically complex debate surrounding the OP_RETURN opcode and its associated relay policies. This discussion, while echoing the philosophical undertones of past conflicts, represents a fundamentally different class of challenge than the 2015-2017 blocksize wars."

The messages I have received are:
1. You are too stupid to understand bitcoin. Are you a dev? No. Then not only is your opinion meaningless, it is harmful.
And...
2. Core is infiltrated by feds and people acting for payments (though most of them are incalculably wealthy already). And they are tryihng to destroy the best chance humanity has for breaking out of the cage we live in. Also... child porn.
Am I missing anything? Serious question.
Are you saying that's the message you received from my article? or the debate more broadly?
No, sorry. Your article is extraordinary. And is the sort of thing missing in the "debate" which is what I was bitching about in my hipshot post.
Phew 😅 I got nervous for a minute. Glad you found it useful
It is the nuance where I think people are getting tripped up on this, actually on both sides.
