Anyone else have anything else to say to this? I really can't stand the UI, so I'm not very fond of fountain, anyway. But... If all this is true (and it seems to be), I'll just nope TF out of using it permanently.

The Fountain podcast app is corrupt bullshit It's NOT "Powered by the Bitcoin Lightning Network" It's a custodial bank account, closed source app, hosted on Amazon, with Gmail verification, letting you insert an RSS feed to one government domain. Unlike the Arweave RSS system I presented yesterday, Which is true and genuine freedom and censorship resistance by transcending physical locations with the files served on a 30+ gateway global CDN, going directly peer-to-peer, With Fountain, you're putting your private Nostr key in a closed source mobile app, served to you by the censorship oppressors Google and Apple. They use the word "open" on their website, but their github doesn't have the code itself: https://github.com/fountain-fm You think you're using peer-to-peer Bitcoin? It's a custodial bank account. Look at this bullshit: "Fountain charges a 4% transaction fee on top of every payment you make to a podcast but you can join Fountain Premium to reduce your fees to just 1%. We also charge 10 sats for comments and replies to reduce spam." In Summary: --Not Bitcoin, it's a bank account. --Zero Censorship Resistance, Regular Files --Insert Private Nostr key into closed source --Heavy integration with Big Tech --Surveillance of who is listening --Leeching Bitcoin fees for RSS feeds and Nostr, which are both peer-to-peer without Fountain You're being manipulated to reject real solutions like Arweave RSS, so these institutions can maintain power and control.

Arweave is endorsed by every big tech scumbag and the devs use Discord. I don't know anything other than that, but that's enough. I see a fire outside of the frying pan.
Yeah. I honestly don't understand the need to add "blockchain" stuff to RSS, which just effing works. Now... Would I like a podcast app to be wake to create a list of podcasts I listen to so I could share it with other nostr users? Yes. I'd like that.
AntennaPod has OPML and HTML export options. Is that what you mean? I use that for podcasts and Fossify Feeder for RSS. I don't know what I would gain from closed source tracking crap or shitcoin blockchains.
No. I would rather not have to send a file to a fellow nostrich. I would rather link a list. Not that sharing an OPML file is difficult, but... It would be fun to have some of the social aspects that fountain is trying to enact, but without their intrusive funding stuff. I use antennapod, too. It's pretty great.
I've also landed on Antennapod, though sometimes it doesn't play for me. Fountain was too glitchy and felt gimmicky. I was thinking of redownloading it to try again, but will not obv if this information is accurate.
I've never once had an issue with AP. This is across 3 phones and years. I have had issues with some podcasts that reformat their RSS feed for whatever reason, but, that's not AP's fault.
Ah, I see. That seems Nostrifiable, so maybe it'll be fully decentralized at some point. I think we're going to have to filter through a lot of mainstream apps touting "Nostr integration" before the FOSS stuff catches up.
Yeah, I'm not super techie, so idk where the problem originates. When streaming it will tell me it can't play this file right now, please try deleting and redownloading. 🤷‍♀️
I gotta say I really struggled with the UX (iPhone) and ended up deleting the app for now If it is in fact close sourced and custodial I can’t see any reason to give it another try🤔 I’ve also struggled with the UX of ecash…but absolutely see the benefits in continuing to support it Just one idgit’s opinion🤷🏽‍♂️
