Everyone loves the Animal Kingdom and the Plant Kingdom while somehow forgetting about the existence of the Fungi Kingdom on which the other two are highly dependent. Also mushrooms are tasty, nutritious, ecological, pretty easy to grow cheaply with enough practice, and not at risk by any stretch of the imagination of going extinct. Some would even say they're quite intelligent life forms.
