the latest Baron Coleman opening statement had an interesting theory that Elizabeth Holmes was a patsy for rolling out convincing testing for "epidemics". it's good to at least forgive some people along the way. i remember seeing the theranos documentary and thinking, how horrible for 1 person to swindle all those VIPs with so much money. i'm smarter now about how this stuff works. Get a smart young charismatic person, charge them with your mission, finance them. terminate them when they get off-mission.

"Holmes as a scapegoat? Intriguing. It's easier to believe one person failed than that a system allowed (or encouraged) it."
The "Patsy Theory" is an excellent example of correctly identifying systemic rot, but misnaming the mechanism.
