Two thoughts: 1. UK is not a large market for Apple. So they can say this in a "we're privacy focused" without losing much revenue while bolstering the much larger American revenue. 2. I doubt they'd actually remove these features.

Idk. This is the same company that violated a federal court order to unlock one of their own phones for the FBI that belonged to a terrorist. They literally looked at the govt and said, “no.” Yes or was great for PR. But it was also good for their customers. Europe in general has become a danger to the rest of the world technologically through excessive regulation. It feels like every other week I’m hearing about another case or law moving it’s way through the EU or the UK that would harm either innovation or privacy. I imagine Apple would have an opportunity to fire a warning shot at Europe without harming revenue from the entire EU this way.
