The Bitcoin Address
Fellow Bitcoiners, and citizens of a world on the brink of awakening:
Fourteen years and some blocks ago, a humble whitepaper brought forth on this Earth a new form of money, conceived in cryptography, and dedicated to the timeless proposition that all people should be sovereign over the fruits of their labor.
Now we find ourselves engaged in a great economic trial, testing whether this network — or any network so conceived and so dedicated — can long endure in the face of doubt, distortion, and the old systems that cling to power. We are met on a digital frontier, not to consecrate it, for the brave nodes and miners who secure it have already done so far above our poor power to add or detract.
The world will little note, nor long remember, the noise of the markets, the headlines of the day, or the fleeting judgments of the fearful. But it can never forget what we do here — the patient building, the holding with conviction, the refusal to surrender truth to convenience, or freedom to comfort.
It is for us, the living, to be dedicated now to the unfinished work which Satoshi began: that from this decentralized ledger we take increased devotion to the cause for which countless cycles of computation have already been given — that a world of the people, by the people, and for the people shall not perish under the weight of inflation and coercion.
Let us here highly resolve that self-sovereign money shall not vanish from this Earth — and that each of us, in word and deed, shall carry this peaceful revolution forward.
The halving may come, cycles may rise and fall —
but the truth of Bitcoin shall endure.
