Actually, hardware wallets are of no importance whatsoever. On the contrary, they can all be OpSec errors; see cold wallets that shout "I'm here" and have companion applications that are set up by connecting to centralised servers. What matters is understanding the functionality of any wallet that gives you absolute control over your private keys and exercising the necessary caution and prudence accordingly.
