Based on that definition, it makes more sense. But it is problematic when most people don’t understand weapon that way. So why not use a different term?

I think because we've been in a state of war since the Federal Reserve Act was passed. We as a people have been stolen from and oppressed for a century at a scale that surpasses any king or military conqueror in history.
It's only natural to use the right tools for the job, and the job is to secure our freedom.
