I’ve been promoting and teaching people in Illinois about bitcoin for over a decade now…
I’ve never thought about extracting money from people to do so either and I totally disagree with anyone who does so…
I will show you as much as I know for free…
As should any bitcoiner…

OK. yes. but on the flip side to this...
I'll speak at meet ups, do videos, conferences, whatever to get the message out there. but on a few occasions someone with way more fiat than me has asked for 1 on 1 hand holding for setting up a wallet, securing a seed phrase, and moving coins from exchange to self custody. I absolutely bill per hour for this, because I do IT consulting for a living and I don't see this as fundamentally different from fixing a QuickBooks server or setting up an email account.
also, I know of a woman in my area who did offer 1 on 1 bitcoin help for free, her help included making a copy of all her "clients" seed phrases and running off with the funds. I charge by the hour and make sure my clients know to never show their seed phrase to anyone.
Naw I would never accept payment for teaching people the knowledge I already possess…
But I have been paid to just set stuff up for people, that was a service lol they didn’t want to learn…
I don't see much a problem in charging to teach stuff and it's more effective in some ways, people often don't give any thought to free advice and free books.
I just don’t feel right taking payments for spreading knowledge
I see, it's ok
