I would never pay someone for the work they put into a post. As a writer, I know the act of writing that post helped them as much, if not more, than the person reading it. I would also never tip someone for a funny/clever/eloquent thought. The muse visits us all. Today you, tomorrow me, etc. Writing posts and comments and contributing to the collective unconscious is just something humans do and must do. I don’t find it helpful or life giving to put prices on that activity.

The exception is for the person (nostr relay) that is collecting all of that collective unconscious data and packaging it up and selling it. It makes sense that the data *as a whole* is worth money and that they should desire to compensate the contributors to the collective accordingly. But why would fellow writers pay each other when the only one really making money is the one that sells it collectively. As a reader, you’d be paying twice
I think that putting a price is different than putting value. The beautiful thing about thinking in satoshis is that we are giving away something that is more than money but is also value, energy and time. Regarding your position in tipping posts, I understand that an artist is less interested in other artists products because that's the kind of value you give to yourself so you don't need to get it from someone else. I like to tip posts I personally like because of the feedback I give back to the person, hoping that it incentivize him to do more of that work.
