If I encounter a business that uses Square I’d like to ask them if they accept Bitcoin. If they say no, I’d like to be able to say something along the lines of “Well you should because _______”. What’s a good few sentences to make them begin considering accepting bitcoin? #asknostr

I think they’re already doing this. Maybe it hasn’t released yet. Where you set how you want to pay and merchant sets how they want to receive, so you just pay a square reader/register with bitcoin and if the merchant wants dollars they receive dollars. Smooth on both ends.
As a previous merchant I would not appreciate “you should because” I don’t know anyone that does … it’s off putting
I suggest getting to know THEM and understand what they are about yhe challenges they have in business - DON’T speculate as to what their problems are - particularly on the financial side - bridge a problem they have eg. Access to funds, time to reconcile payments with HOW Bitcoin solves
If I’m stopping by a local shop to grab lunch for 5 minutes I don’t have time to get to know them and the challenges they have in business.
Yes but they have to enable the feature to accept bitcoin. Most won’t enable it because they don’t even know what bitcoin is or how it benefits them.
I just want to plant a seed for them and have them consider accepting bitcoin as payment
Jeff Booth had a good for this.
“Instead of paying fees to accept money that loses value, you can pay zero fees to accept money that gains value.”
That’s a good one, nice and simple
My work is done here …
Exactly what I was looking for. Much appreciated!
