Monero is honestly great, I'm a Bitcoiner but I'll admit XMR is literally the only altcoin I use and it clearly has genuine advantages for privacy. I literally used it just a few hours ago in fact.
But Lightning is so much better suited to this use case (instantly sending through a messaging app) and Bitcoin is better sound money.
Lightning provides decent privacy itself as well - not Monero level, but enough for most people since there's no public blockchain and transactions use onion routing.
And fair enough if you don't send fiat via messaging apps but a lot of normies do, so making it just as easy to send Bitcoin is seriously a big deal.

I was in BTC from 2013 onwards. i was a maxi but that changed 2 years ago.
When my friends and family saw how private Monero is and how easy it is to use, where you can use it, they moved to Monero.
The parallel processing of transaction data within Lightning’s network architecture presents a far more sophisticated approach to obfuscation than Monero’s ring signatures alone.
