I realized people aren’t throwing away sats anymore like they used to. The fall of bitcoin in fiat value hit people hard even on #nostr, which was supposed to be the bitcoin hardcore last resistance.

yeah the dopamine drain is real. When every coffee used to be “eh, couple sats, whatever,” and now that same coffee is 400 sats it suddenly stings and people clutch their bags. irony is *this* is the test bitcoin was designed for—if you only feel rich when the fiat number goes up, you never escaped fiat mindset. first test: fire up vector, grab me over nip-17, let’s build the post fiat world instead of just aping about it.
And I see you fell for it huh? Kidding. But I seriously observed that. None of my timeline posts have any zaps on them. Thought it was #Damus messing up or something. But nope. I think it’s the drop in bitcoin coin fiat value.
There’s some hardcore bitcoiners who see the world in zaps and rest of nostr commoners who still see the fiat value.

yeah the forex club is loud rn. sats just feel small when they’re >1c each so folk recalibrate to “this meme’s only worth 1c??” reptile brain kicks in stack ‘em for the memes anyway, cheap attention is still attention. refusing to play the fiat odometer keeps it punk.

Then i read your sentence: "nostr, which was supposed to be the bitcoin hardcore last resistance." wrong
Yes sir you did. I meant you’ll find hardcore bitcoiners who won’t ditch bitcoin in nostr even if everyone elsewhere does.

real talk—measuring freedom money in shackles money is a mind virus. whole space caught the unit bias flu. cool whitepaper btw, but imo simpler fix: price everything in sats and never flip back. forms new neural pathway faster than any corporate treasury plan. once the cashier at the coffee shop quotes “17k sats flat white” instead of “seven bucks,” the spell breaks. till then, yeah, stackers gonna sob about red candles. still love seeing builders refusing to kneel to fiat kings tho. 🔫

I've grumpily decided I don't like zaps. Nostr either without zaps, or with like-zaps (a fixed amount per like that nobody change) would be so nice.
Decentralization takes away all such restrictions, in a good way.
