The promise of cloud backups is convenience. But the cost is control. You’re not paranoid for wanting ownership. You’re not extreme for saying no to surveillance disguised as service. It's your data. Not your server, not your data. Just as true as for 'Not your keys, not your bitcoin' and 'Not your node, not your transaction'. Sovereignty requires control of the full vertical of identity, credentials, and custody. If someone else verifies who you are, who is authorized to access it, and who can delete it, then whatever 'it' is, it's NOT 'yours'!
