It would be interesting if Bitcoin businesses got together (I would consider my firm to be in that bucket) and all agree to fund some kind of part time/fulltime intern to work on bitcoin, for pay, as a kind of decentralized Bitcoin development apparatus. If all bitcoin companies shaved a little of their bottom line in this way, the results could be interesting. Or, in the alternative, formed a multi-corporate non-profit organization like a Trade Association pooling resources to hire a few people just to work on bitcoin development. The more diverse the corporate interests, the less suspicious or captured it would appear.
