Welcome π
Granted, I donβt have a boat nor much interest in one. But Iβd definitely like to recreate this setup in a terrestrial setting.
We have around 1300 watts of solar that charge a 400Ah bank of 24 volt lithium batteries.
This powers not only our node but also our fridge, freezer and onboard electronics.
To run a node youβd probably get away with 500 watts and a 100Ah AGM battery, which is around $400 worth of gear and even cheaper 2nd hand.
Thank you. What do you do for connectivity to the node? WiFi? Starlink? Tor?
At the moment we wifi it into our onboard network which connects to the internet via a starlink. It uses around 50 watts when itβs running so not a huge amount of power consumption.
