My friend, we are both the sculptor and the clay. It is possible to have a benevolent government. I know it’s hard to believe today. But there have been good emperors of Rome, good presidents of the United States, good kings in European history. Admitting defeat without even trying to improve governance isn’t noble, it’s pathetic.
