I love all kinds of crafts including "manly" ones and in my experience first honest try comes out either a disaster or more probably best of approximately first four. It's pow for sure, but you don't pay attention as much once you repeat something that was sucessful, maybe first time you had just plain luck, and it takes a dozen more to really start knowing, what is just right and where should it be headed.
