My father-in-law came by over the weekend to help me build a fence in our backyard. I got a quote to have it done for $7500. Doing it ourselves is less than $2000. I'm no handyman, but after this project I feel like I can do anything. Learning how to use all the tools necessary has been invaluable. I'm a software engineer, but each day I find myself wanting to leave it and do something that keeps me healthy and active. I'm grateful for my father-in-law taking the time to guide me through it. The lessons are numerous. The fence is almost done and I look forward to trying my hand at more jobs before calling a contractor. It's kinda funny how proud I am of this fence lol. Proof of work will do that I guess. #diy image

Thatโ€™s awesome. Best lesson. Doing things the right way pays off in long run, even if it means doing it twice.
