Venerable Dimitrie the New of Basarabi, a humble shepherd, lived a life of prayer and simplicity near the village of Basarabi, Romania. Upon his death, he was found incorrupt, near a river. During a Tatar invasion, his relics were moved to a small church in Bucharest. When a paralyzed man touched his relics, he was miraculously healed.
