Rental prices in Buenos Aires are already below the level BEFORE the Rental Law was even invented in real terms. Overall results so far: Housing supply up 212% Rental prices are down 26% Mortgage costs are down 30% Insane to see fast the market correction was after Milei repealed it (8 months ago). Another change he implemented was that contracts of any kind can be signed and agreed upon in any currency or good, including Bitcoin. image

Sorry I don’t know anything about this subject… so Milei removed a law, the market corrected, & you can already see the benefit? Ie free market has done its thing…?
Exactly, the Rental Law that was in place before fixed contracts to set time periods and owners weren’t allowed to increase more than once a year. The result was nobody wanted to rent their property out under those conditions. Milei took it all off and let owners and renters decide the terms and payment methods of their contract
Brilliant. Are there other examples of this since Milei assumed leadership? I see plenty of opportunities for this free market oriented policy to be enacted at multiple levels of government globally The key of course is to have free market friendly politicians (which is easier said than done)
Aviation is another example, he implemented the open skies policy and since then more airlines have come in and tickets are cheaper
Gosh interesting! I had the pleasure of travelling in Argentina many years ago with my now wife, amazing people But we didn’t fly, but took the bus, as flights were expensive for us at the time Free market. More competition. Wouldn’t surprise me to see lots more travellers taking flights!
