Even the algo works because of human curation. I may be wrong but algos introduce an element of what seems like serendipity to the feed. Basing this purely from my Twitter experience which was crap when I initially followed only "official" accounts of my favourite shows and a few friends. Later on with Trending, x friend follows, x friend has liked kind of posts in my feed, I started following more people & my feed became 100x more interesting. There's probably a critical mass of follows to make for a good feed and sometimes algos do surface posts that one may never see otherwise. I only miss that kind of serendipity which the global feed doesn't quite have right now. I'm sure it will get better.

imagine using others feeds? their follows? their blocks?
