⚡🇫🇷 NEW - A mathematics student and crypto investor was the target of a kidnapping attempt.
Four young men, aged 21 to 24, were indicted on April 2 for conspiracy to commit a crime.
They are suspected of having attempted to attack a 23-year-old crypto investor on March 29, 2026, in Boulogne-Billancourt.
It all began on Sunday, March 28, around 11:45 p.m. The resident of a houseboat was disturbed by a stranger who rang his doorbell, posing as a delivery person. Given the late hour, the cautious man in his fifties did not open the door to this impostor, who was wearing a yellow vest. He immediately alerted the police. A patrol arrived quickly on the scene and spotted a Toyota Auris.
Four figures were inside, and the officers handcuffed them. Inside the car, they discover a knife, several plastic ties, gloves, a beanie, and brand-new yellow vests, still in their packaging.
These men, originally from Brunoy in Essonne and the 7th arrondissement of Paris, are taken into custody in Nanterre before being transferred to the Paris Organized Crime Unit.
The analysis of the phone’s contents was crucial.
Investigators discovered a photo and an address located near the site of their arrest. “The team had the wrong address and was actually targeting a young student with a passion for mathematics who invests in cryptocurrency,” explains a source close to the case.
The four young men remained silent during their interrogations. Further investigations should shed more light on the matter and determine whether they acted on the orders of a mastermind.
