Well, I believe most nostr and bitcoin-users of @Signal are still unaware about @Signal’s funding from the CIA and NSA, @Derek Ross, @Meredith Whittaker. I think it’s a problem that many Signal-users are unaware of the trade-off’s they’re making with their ‘private’ ‘E2E-encrypted messages’ in Signal. I’m saying ‘private’ because of spyware like Pegasus and Paragon. Ref. I believe we should inform #nostr and Signal-users about Signal’s funding from intelligence / three-letter-agencies, like the NSA and CIA. In my mind, we truly need @White Noise by @JeffG , @Max and the rest of the MLS-team, in addition to @Martti Malmi’s Double Ratchet encryption algorithm. PS. Signal is in a bit of a trust me bro situation, as with most end to end encrypted messaging applications where you don't own the signing keys. White Noise fixes this, but has a long road ahead of itself to where it's usable in the real world and by the masses. They're working hard and I'm confident they'll get it right. I assume your outage issues this morning is because Signal uses AWS, like 1/3 of the Internet, and it seems like many popular services and applications are struggling today.
