Bitcoin mining is what secures the transactions plus fees for individuals. Once all bits have been mined transactions will be done for fees themselves. People who want in will pay whatever they deserve to pay, just like if a group of people somehow owned all the land in the universe, those who wanted to use any land will have to pay whatever the owners are willing to sell it for. Would Jared benefit from knowing that words are not "real" but those same words can unlock things in real life like usernames and passwords to twitter? In the same way words can unlock accounts at banks to legally get access to gold, or even sats. Perhaps if Jared knew that an atom of Gold is worth $0.0000000000000000000000000346 where an "atom" of bitcoin is worth $0.001 but in the future there is nothing stopping it from being worth $1B or more. Not that we are saying it will grow, it might beat inflation, but the important thing is that it can be used right now.
