Not all, “eligible”. No one has clarified what this means yet

I really truly hope it's as easy as cash, credit, bitcoin, so when I go to pay I can tap a button and tell the cashier my form of payment and they hit the button. Though at first they'll be like wtf we don't take bitcoin 🤣 So I wonder how that transitional step is handled. I guess I'll go to my local coffee shop tomorrow and find out.

It means that New York is excluded. Square merchants in NY cannot enable this even if they wanted to. You can read it in their terms.

I know that is part of it, but i would bet it’s more than just that.

Default matters. Bitcoin at checkout stops being a niche feature once merchants do not have to hunt for the toggle. Curious what share of users try it in the first 30 days.

Can you let me know how it goes? I am beyond interested to understand the experience. Unfortunately living too far away in Europe to see it.
