Talk me into my next BTC miner. I currently have a Bitaxe gamma solo mining 24/7. Call it my last degenerate behavior lingering from my fiat past, or contributing to the decentralized hash rate.
For the next one I would like to serve a higher purpose. I would use it to pool mine with @OCEAN and the proceeds from it I intend to stack in non-KYC cold storage. Reasons being, having to jump ship privately or potential pass down to future generations.
Currently I'm looking at a NerdQaxe++ and Canaan Avalon 3S. Both have 6TH/S hash rate at a similar price point. The key difference for me is that I'm familiar with the Bitaxe OS and it will integrate easily with my current miner. The Canaan has its own interface, but has the additional benefit of acting as a small space heater which I could use.
Based on this, what would you choose? Do you mine?

For $600 you could have two Canaans and the NerdQ will be $450-$500 is my guess.
…but the NerdQ++ is much cooler. 😂 I have one and it’s ones of the coolest things I own.

I‘m working with S21 pro. All good 🧡⛏️
Nice setup!
If you care about opensource, openhardware, then any #bitaxe is good, that was my choice.
I’ve got an AvalonQ sitting behind me at home. 93TH/s. It’s a very affective space heater lol. Probably overkill for what u want. But I’ve recently bought 10 S21 Pros with a hosting solely for the purpose of stacking non-KYC stats for a future emergency :). Currently stacking around 2.5m sats per month with this setup. If u can afford the capital outlay (I do it in my retirement fund), it works out to around $90k to mine 1BTC. I suppose it depends on your core reason. For me, it’s an insurance policy.
We need something more powerful though, average plebs like us can have easisy around 100th on every home.
I'd go with NerdQaxe for the open-source soul of it. But Avalon is pretty good and can heat a small room :)
I agree. The Avalon Q looks like a good option, just not ready to invest that much yet.
I agree, I think I’ll stick with the brand and get something bigger next time. I really like Axe OS and the hardware looks cool.
