For so long, I wrestled with Twitter. An endless torrent of noise, fleeting thoughts, and shallow interactions that left me feeling hollow. It was a place I fought to carve out meaning, only to find myself drained, lost in the churn of algorithms and outrage. I clung to it out of habit, and out of concerns for losing my voice in the sea of voices.
Now I’m really committing to Nostr, I can feel a shift within me. It wasn’t immediate, but gradually I’m feeling a sense of contentment settle in. Here, I’m not wrestling anymore. The interactions felt real, grounded, free from the push and pull of the rigged algorithms of Twitter. I can be more meditative with my posts again, in a space where my thoughts aren’t diluted, and the flow of conversation carries a deeper current.
It feels like stepping into a still lake after years of battling waves - here things are calmer, more reflective, more peaceful. I realise now that on the bird app I had been trying to force meaning in a place where it no longer existed.
Nostr is a place where my thoughts, and my posts, have space to grow, to evolve, unburdened by the noise.
Now my job is to find my authentic voice again - not shouting into the void, but speaking with clarity and depth. There’s work to do in rebuilding a community, but I feel a strong sense that this is the place to do it.
