I've made so many hats for Jr that "are itchy" and bever got worn, I took him to the store and had him rub all the yarns on his forehead, he settled of a soft acrylic for the latest one.

This kid is sweaty and always hot type, I suppose he has a bit more moist skin. Second one has no issues. I left out acryl since that's very warm and he might hate that. So maybe merino or cotton? Or bamboo.. 🤔 But I have generally issues with ecological impact of viscose, especially bamboo is awful.

Wool is the best option, superwash is generally not scratchy but my kid didn't like it. I went with what he's going to like and wear 🤷‍♀️. Wool will breathe better than cotton, silk is a good choice but...it's silk 😖

I suppose silk for knitting is similar fun as for sewing? 🥲

It's very slippery. But ohhhhh the drape 🤤🤌
