As someone who's been fortunate to use Waymo regularly for 2+ years, I almost never take human operated transport anymore, unless forced to. On a trip this week I took two Ubers and a Taxi, and moderately feared for my life on all three trips. Strung-out gig-economy workers are just not in a great place right now.
Humans, even on a good day are unpredictable and generally bad drivers. When I realize most people on earth are still somewhat frightened- fascinated by driverless taxis makes me think how early we are in their adoption. I'm having a hard time imagining I'll ever go back.
