Well, first, while you can’t use twitter without being logged in, there is still no KYC. You can easily use it with proton main or similar or even with your self hosted email service with some efforts and virtual/prepaid phone numbers, no KYC at all But if spreading links (lnurl) is “sending bitcoin payments” then the future is already here — just print lnurl qr code and put it in real world on walls and trees, no KYC and sign up I just don’t understand why ppl need to attach some magic to nostr that has no relation to it. Do we really want to manipulate people to join nostr because of the things nostr doesn’t completely relate to?

It’s simple. Nostr is a protocol, not a platform. It’s censorship resistant and permissionless. It’s the only place that allows Lightning users to react to messages by “Zap” instead of “Like”. The possibilities are endless. Check out Mutiny wallet. They added connectivity to Nostr, so the wallet works just like Venmo. Telling people to join a protocol is very different than telling people to join a centralized platform. It’s like the difference between promoting commodities vs unregistered securities. One is ethical, the other not so much.
