Let's not forget that there are many running private relays, private communities globally, there is a lot of relays in Japan that blocks IPs outside of Japan. There will never be a true metrics for usage of Nostr, which is exactly the way it should be and it means it's working.

Someone could sidecar private relays and get a pretty go idea of the goings on. There other ways as well.
