Agree with everything except the Pubky Ring part. I don't fuck with Google Play Services. I don't even have it installed, only @Zapstore The Ring .apk is available on their GitHub:

I've had issues with onboarding / signing in with Pubky Ring too, so I just use a seed phrase. You don't even need Pubky Ring, it's just a sign up / sign in convenience that protects your private key (when it's working properly). Might as well make a vanity keypair while you're at it:
