I'm not as optimistic. In fact, it saddens me to see dissidence being organized on fediverse. It's far too easy to deplatform a user, and it has very poor means to verify the authenticity of an account. The network is gaining momentum in grass roots looking for independence, at the same point in time as the corporate world, who in turn sees the decentralized value and centralized control. Time will tell.
