Volatility hedge?
Traceable, programmable, confiscatable "money". Sounds like a CBDC to me.
A fake stability is not stable, as a fake descentralized is not DeFi.

Human don't like stability, without ups and downs things get boring and mediocre.
Stability for the system — not for the individual. The individual needs hard money, not a peg to a sinking ship.
Stable coins are a fancy way of saying CBDC. There is no other way to package it. It’s as simple as that.
Maybe not CBDC but PBDC private banking digital currency either way they still can be used to stop you spending your own money which tether are showing us categorically almost every week
