I also need US Dollars.
but I'm generally 2/3 Monero.
Nobody needs USD. It's a matter of dedication and perseverance these days. Some of us live completely or almost completely on crypto. Well, actually Monero as no one else is still trying to route around fiat.
Damn sweet fiat gains have muddied the brains of many.
how do you pay your bills?
do you run a business?
the creditors dont take Monero.
they take Dollars.

Debank yourself and then strive to form healthy relationships with all your trade partners. If you didn't try this you are far from experiencing true power.
There are also plenty of people wiling to do your shopping for you. And as a last resort there are always giftcards.
Paying bills has turned into a joyess and highly creative task since I started to debank myself.
My experience shows that it is possible to opt-out.
my "trade partners" are Conoco, Ace Hardware, propane company and the health food store.
in a redneck town where cash is king.
i dont think swapping in from Bitcoin or Monero whenever people need fiat is practical
