I knew Dutch VOC laid some fundamentals, like shareholder tradings, but never realised the full extent. Partly, because in my knowledge it were foreign thinkers/economists (Adam Smith f.e.) who laid out capatalism from which it evolved into what we have now. I am university scholed in the Netherlands btw
