I think really long term. I envision a future we are nowhere near. We might be nearish to a future where animal cultivation has been replaced with real lab-grown meat (not "plant based meat"). We might be nearish to a future where people stop dying of old age. But will it only be rich people? How do we make it everyone? How long will that take? Can lab grown meat replace most people's hunting? What about wild animals? Can we have a future where prey animals are evolving to do something other than be prey, because humans are making tigers and coyotes and stuff evolve to prefer hunting fake prey? Can they all stop dying of old age too? What has to be done about people who are like "no, you can't do everything in your power to save lives and make less suffering happen, it's uNnAtURaL" ??? What do we do when it's all done? If I live a million years and save all the animals, will I get bored? What will never get old to me, no matter how long time goes on? Seeing Digit exist, but what else? Feeding immortal hyperintelligent cyborg crows? That might not have the charm as feeding natural crows. What if there's an actual endgame to existence? What if we've been created to solve some problem - what happens when we figure it out? Do we win? Do we get rewarded? Do we get discarded? Maybe we forget everything, and it all repeats, and in the middle, we exist in these brief moments where our minds can see glimpses of it all, past, present, and future. Maybe not. Maybe there's a sequel. Maybe we'll find out.
