Bitcoin mining uses electricity which can be generated from renewables just fine.
Tesla use lithium-ion batteries in their cars which are environmentally disastrous as well as a high explosion risk. They have enough money to research other battery technologies such as sodium-ion which are much more environmentally friendly but they don't. So spare us the "we're doing it to protect the environment" angle.
