I might be willing to believe that the re-review of Damus’ already released version 1.4.3 was just one employee’s idea. But then #[5] tagged Tim Cook on Twitter about it, and Apple set up a meeting with #[3] to discuss it before reaching a decision to allow profile zaps but not note zaps.

My point is that many other iOS apps will have note zapping (there are already others), and that their reviewers will deem that OK. It’s a bunch of regular people doing their regular 9-5. This is where power of nostr comes in, as a Damus user I benefit from other apps, my notes can still be zapped from other apps on other platforms, and also from the other iOS apps that are allowed zaps. Long term the platforms aren’t really going to be able to stop nostr apps and the pragmatism of developers.
